It is a request letter that a student or guardians of the student write to the principal of the school. The purpose of this letter is to persuade the principal to reverse the decision of suspension.
Students are often suspended from high school when:
- They break the rule of the school
- They show any kind of misconduct
- They misbehave or demonstrate indiscipline
Whenever a student realizes that he/she has committed a mistake and there is a chance to get the decision of the suspension reversed, they can write a high school suspension appeal letter.
The appeal should be made appropriately so that the principal of the school accepts it. For this purpose, try to follow the instructions given below:
Mention the purpose:
At the very beginning of the letter, the purpose of writing the appeal should be stated. Although the subject clarifies the purpose, mentioning the purpose shows that you are clear regarding what you are putting down.
Brief the issue:
There is always an issue that compels the high school to take this action. For writing the appeal, it is important to briefly explain the issue. Although the reader already knows the issues, when you explain the matter, you tell him your side of the story and your point of view.
Remain professional:
You should know what it feels like to write an appeal letter when you have to show that you are apologetic and not sincere. Use different tactics to sound professional and wise.
Below is a sample appeal letter that you can write to your principal of the school when he has made the decision to suspend you from the school.
Sample letter 1:
Subject: Appeal letter for suspension
Respected Principal,
With due respect, I would like to appeal my suspension from school for 10 days. I am [NAME], a student in 8 grade in section C. Recently, I have been suspended from school because I was cheating on the biology exam. I know I have a bad thing and I fully take responsibility for whatever I have done.
I was informed about the suspension yesterday when I was called into the office of the headmistress. She told me that I will have to talk to higher authorities if I am guilty and wanted this decision to be reversed.
I have also come to terms with the faculty of the school after explaining the entire matter. Although I am a wrongdoer and I deserve to be punished, I would like to exercise my right to appeal against this decision of the school.
This suspension will badly affect my studies as I will have to stay away from lectures and practical work for 10 days. It will take me a long time to catch up with the class after the suspension is over. Therefore, it is my humble request to accept my appeal and give me another chance. I will try to improve myself and I assure you that this will not happen again.
Sample letter 2:
Subject: Appeal letter for suspension
Respected Principal,
I am [NAME], a student in grade 10 at ABC high school. Throughout my time in the school, I have faced lots of challenges due to being in a financial crisis. In the past few years, I have managed to become a successful student in your school. However, currently, I am facing a setback again because of my suspension from the school.
Recently, I have been suspended from the school because of non-payment of fees. I understand that it is the responsibility of every student at the school to pay the fee. I have been a very bright student at the school, but I am unable to pay my fees because of the death of my father.
Therefore, I would like to request you to please reconsider your decision regarding my suspension from the school. I would have to suffer a lot if I stayed away from school for a long time.
I hope that you will understand my situation and accept my appeal.
