Ever tried the Undo command while typing? How good it is that you’re always in a state to undo the wrong insertion that you do. This undo action is rare in real-life matters but, there are still some decisions and actions that you can undo. One such real-life undo command is cancellation letters.
Cancellation letters are letters that are used to officially cancel contracts, memberships, subscriptions, etc. Once you realize that a contract, membership, or subscription was a wrong choice, it is not benefiting you or you find a better option, you can cancel the older one using a cancellation letter.
Since cancellation letters are required by companies, contractors, and relevant people to keep the official record, you should write them with responsibility. Here are a few tips to write proper cancellation letters.
- Write it in a decent and formal way, using a business letter format.
- State the subscription dates and details properly.
- Avoid using unethical language
- Request the reader to inform you about the cancellation
- Use printed letters instead of handwritten
- Sign the letter properly
- It is good to inform the company/contractor (decently) about the reason for your cancellation especially if it involved their shortcomings. This can help them improve their services.
It should be kept in mind that not all services provide the option of cancellation, therefore, you should avoid subscriptions everywhere thinking to cancel at any time. The company or the service may not be offering the option of cancellation. That’s why it is recommended to read the terms and conditions carefully every time you subscribe, take membership or make a contract. Cancellation letters can only take effect if they are part of the policy.
