What is a tenant income verification form?

This form is prepared to verify the income of the tenant. It is a formal correspondence between a landlord and the tenant.

Verifying the tenant’s income is a major part of the tenant screening process. A landlord needs to know about the financial stability of the tenant. Income verification is also important because it helps the landlord know if the occupation of the tenant is legal.

This tenant income verification form is usually used by a prospective tenant who is working as an employee in a company. The landlord can also use it to request the tenant to verify the income.

The tenant is required to contact the employer who will verify his employment and the salary.

This form can be created easily if you know the exact format. There are two sections in the form. One is required to be filled by the tenant and the other is to be filled by the employer.

  1. The first section of the form includes the employee’s details and the employer’s name.
  2. The second section of the form is the main section which includes the details about the employee such as his name, job title, and the date on which he was employed. It also includes the details about his job such as total average salary per hour, salary per week, overtime rate per hour; shift differential rate, average overtime hours per week, commission and bonuses, etc.
  3. In the end, there is a special field in the form which is used for giving additional remarks.
  4. The form ends with the signatures of the employer, his name, and the date of signing the form.
